Bobath Scotland is a charity who work along the Bobath concept providing intensive therapy to children with cerebral palsy.

Christian Aid is an agency of the churches in the UK and Ireland. They work wherever the need is greatest irrespective of religion or race.

They believe in strengthening people to find their own solutions to the problems they face and support local organisations, which are best placed to understand local needs. They also give help on the ground through 16 overseas offices.

They strive for a new world transformed by an end to poverty and they campaign to change the rules that keep people poor.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an International humanitarian aid organisation that provides emergency medical assistance to populations in danger in more than 80 countries. In countries where health structures are insufficient or non-existant, MSF collaborates with authorities such as Ministries of Health to provide assistance.

MSF works in rehabilitation of hospitals and dispensaries, vaccination programmes and water and sanitation projects. MSF also works in remote health care centres, slum areas and provides training of local personnel. All this is done with the objective of rebuilding health structures to acceptable levels.

The Scottish SPCA has been caring for and striving to prevent cruelty to Scotland's animals for 166 years.

Having started out in 1839, principally to ensure the welfare of carthorses, the Society is now established as Scotland's largest animal welfare charity.

Even so, they receive no Government or Lottery funding and depend entirely on donations.

People often confuse the Scottish SPCA with the RSPCA, which covers England and Wales only. Although they often work closely, they are entirely separate charities.

Scottish SPCA Inspectors respond to over 160,000 calls for help each year, with their workload varying from investigating cruelty cases and refloating stranded dolphins to abseiling down a cliff face to rescue stranded dogs.
