Tips For A Super Wedding
Choosing A Wedding Band
Shoestring Wedding Band in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Scotland
ShoeString have a vast wealth of experience having played at countless weddings, hogmanay bashes, parties and ceilidhs, at home and abroad, in Europe and in the Far East
The band carries an entire set of their own brand of ceilidh music (with an experienced "caller") and an entire set of covers from Elvis to Snow Patrol - Beatles to Greenday, and can thus adjust to any required programme.
With experience of a wide range of venues from Stirling and Edinburgh Castles to the village halls, they can adapt to suit any venue and event.
The band comes either with own caller calling from the stage or they can supply a professional to work on the dance-floor
A totally live, six-piece band, Shoestring comprises of electric lead and bass guitars, accoustic guitar, drums, keyboards and fiddle.
The band have a state of the arts PA system and stage and floor lighting.
"Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you all for an absolutely fantastic evening. We've heard nothing but compliments of your band and I think
everyone had a great time. Many thanks."
"Following on from last years absolutely fantastic night we decided to go again with the Ceilidh Band and chose Shoestring again for the second year running.
This was the easiest decision we had to make in the build up to the dinner night in fact several guests from last year had asked for the Band by name.
The band turned up early on the day to set up bang on the arranged time. They got there sound checks completed and were away out of our way to enable us to finish setting up.
On the night they were absolutely fantastic as expected and they gave everyone who required it a walk through talk through demonstration of every set before they played.
I will no doubt be in charge of organising next years burns Supper and would have no hesitation in recommending that we again use Shoestring as the Main entertainment for the evening.
In fact, we may be organising a St Andrews night later on in the year and if
I have my way I will be trying for a Ceilidh band and will be asking for Shoestring."

Help! How do I play these music files?
It's easy! Just double-click on the link and Windows Media Player (or whatever music player you have installed on your PC) should run and start playing the music file within a few seconds. Make sure you have your speakers plugged in and switched on.
If you have a Broadband internet connection (which is very fast), then the music files should play very smoothly straight away.
However, if you have a standard "Dialup" connection (your modem dials up to allow you to make the connection to the internet) then you will find the music file stops and starts all the time. This is because your PC music player is trying to stream or play the music as it downloads to your hard drive but your internet connection isn't fast enough to play the music smoothly.
If that is what is happening to you, then all you have to do is let the music stagger through once (it is downloading as this is happening) and then it will play at full speed after that. You can then listen to the the music file as many times as you want.
Alternatively, you can download the mp3 first and play it from your Hard Drive. To do this, just right-click on the mp3 link and select "Save target as" from the drop-down menu.
You can then save the mp3 file to your Desktop or any other folder of your choice.
When the mp3 file is completely downloaded, double-click on it and it will play immediately on Windows Media player or whatever music player you have installed.
We hope that has helped you. If not, just give us a ring on 0141 577 6604 and we'll talk you through it.
We're here to help you in any way we can.
